Alison D. Early, M.D.
Alison Dzwonczyk Early, MD is a cataract and refractive surgeon at Pajka Eye Center. Alison grew up in Avon Lake, Ohio and completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Cincinnati, where she graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biopsychology. She then matriculated to the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and matched into her first choice Ophthalmology residency program at The Ohio State University Havener Eye Institute. During her time at OSU, Alison performed hundreds of procedures including cataract surgeries, laser eye surgery, and more. In addition to her clinical work, Alison was nominated by her peers and induced into the Gold Humanism Honor Society in her final year of residency. Dr. Early has been in practice as a comprehensive ophthalmologist and cataract and refractive surgeon since 2018.
Dr. Early is active on both the regional and national level as a speaker and key opinion leader in ophthalmology. She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and is part of the AAO Membership Advisory Committee as well as the AAO Online Education Committee, and is often invited to speak at the AAO annual meeting as well as for the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, American-European Congress on Ophthalmic Surgery, Women in Ophthalmology, and YoungMD Connect Live conferences, among others. She has also contributed written works to many ophthalmology publications and currently serves as a Senior Editor for Ophthalmology Business Minute magazine. She is recognized by her peers as a leader and mentor to young ophthalmologists and other physicians and trainees, using social media to provide a resource and insight into life as a practicing physician and solo practice startup founder. Dr. Early believes strongly in physician autonomy and maintaining the best interests of the patient as the forefront of her practice.
Dr. Early practices all forms of cataract, refractive, and vision correction surgery, including management of cataracts using advanced technology intraocular lenses, minimally-invasive glaucoma surgery, and laser refractive surgery such as LASIK and PRK as well as implantable collamer lens surgery for patients with myopia and astigmatism.
Outside of ophthalmology, Dr. Early and her husband enjoy spending time with their three young children. They like to spend time outdoors and prioritize having dinner together as a family each evening.
