Brian Chinavare, M.D.
Dr. Brian Chinavare graduated from the University of Michigan with highest distinction grades in Molecular Biology in 1991, and then entered the University of Michigan Medical School, receiving a scholarship for the highest combined GPA and MCAT score in his class. He then completed an Ophthalmology residency at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, obtaining recognition as House Officer of the Month as an intern. He has performed thousands of eye surgeries and has experience in complex cataract surgery, premium intraocular lens implantation, anterior segment reconstruction, glaucoma surgery, and corneal transplant surgery.
He has been referred complex cataract surgeries and repair of complications from other cataract surgeons. He has been certified in refractive surgery including Lasik. He has also performed retinal surgery and combined traumatic complex eye reconstructions under the tutelage of a retina surgeon for two years, working together at a Level Three Trauma Center hospital. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
